NaNo-ing the Snowflake

Some NaNoWriMo crazy posted a link to The Snowflake Process for outlining and developing a longer work of fiction.

At a glance-through, this Snowflake Process points up one of my biggest flaws as a fiction writer: I get to about the middle stage, a sort of storyboarding with snippets of dialog, and mistakenly think I've actually written a scene. There are four or five more stages to go through after that (and I go through them, but now I know that's how it's supposed to happen).

Systems like this aren't for everyone. But I'm a lot less proud than I used to be over ownership of my peculiar style of doing things--a lot more willing to try it someone else's way when "MY WAY!" doesn't quite pan out.

Lion in tall grass

If you love Lex, you must see this gorgeous photo manip by Owzers.

Makes me want to write a Narnia/Smallville crossover. The kind that will make me go to hell.
