I take heart from your comment. I did love Firefly, madly and passionately, from the first episode (as I loved both Buffy and Angel) and I need to remember that Dollhouse was slower to grow on me.

Totally agree: Coulson as played by Clark Gregg is that rarest character, someone who's both calm and intriguing. I really, really like him.
