Fascinating painting! I had never heard of Carrington, and you're right, her images (at cursory examination online) seem to be drawn from just that realm where shamans do their thing. It is a surreal realm, I suppose in a literal sense of the word when you're talking about Upper World. Would that make Lower World hyporeal? ;)
