My brother, at his work
I thought this was a terrific photo.

I don't see him very often--he lives down south in a warm, beachy climate--but I've always admired his artistry and his craftsmanship. The many long conversations we've had about painting and creativity in general have been the source of a lot of my characterization of John Acklebury.

But then there's also equipment. The ability to set that depth of field so particularly when taking the shot, and to manipulate the colors afterwards (as I assume was done) do require special equipment.
