In a lovely piece of non-judgmentalism that did a great deal to offset my little bout of self-pity this afternoon, Graydie the Stray Cat brought me a present.
Oh I did--let her bat it around a bit before burying the poor creature in the back yard. She was a beautiful little mousie, and I can only be grateful that her death appeared to be due to a broken neck.
I'm sorry that you were feeling so down today. It's great that you do so much bike riding and stuff like that. I hope you can celebrate even tiny bits of progress.
I need to do the same as I've gained weight and gotten sluggish while I've been sick this August.
Thanks. I think a good deal of my despondency is that I'm coming up on a year of very consistent daily bike commuting without the loss of any weight. I try not to let that be my guiding star--too much of my life wasted on it--but I'll admit to hoping for it.
Posting about it actually helped--hope it didn't bring others down. And my house looks really cute with the purple paint gone.
Well, it's sweet that Graydie wanted to cheer you up, even if deceased rodentia is not perhaps the best gift choice. But if you were a fellow cat, you'd be thrilled.
Yes, I tried to enter into the spirit of the thing, and only took the poor little mousie out to the garden to be buried when Graydie had lost interest and gone away again.
