There -are- better tools to use than a machete, but despite all the bulldozers waiting sleepily in their parking places, YOU still have to forge that first path, and YOU still have to keep using it. Using the bulldozer to widen it is a wonderful idea, as long as you keep waking along that roughly carved road. Keeping the gasoline (or diesel) flowing to the dozer is your responsibility!!!

On the other hand, if you fall off the path, and chose to take an alternative route for a day or two, then you can ALWAYS come back to the one less traveled (or more traveled for that matter) whenever you chose. After all you carved it in the first place.
