I have had the most splendid day!

First of all, I slept a long time. Second of all, when I woke, there was SUNSHINE! Real sunshine, through real gaps in the Venusian cloud cover. It was gorgeous.

And third of all, I had a terrific online chat with

ravurian, and it has left me with that unique, specific good feeling that comes from a long and engaged conversation with a new friend.

The sun, astonishingly, continued to shine, so fourth of all, I went out on Eleanor O, and determined that as long as I don't exert myself into actually-aerobic levels of pedaling, this lung condition is almost sort of not a problem.

A few errands and a visit to my mom later, I came home and, fifth of all, finished sleeve number one of a positively ancient WIP cardigan, while watching The Two Towers and Return of the King. (Note: you may keep your Viggo and your Orli and even your Karl Urban, and just leave me with David Wenham.)

And then, even though it clouded up and rained some more, the clouds parted to reveal SUPER MOON, and it is lovely. Sixth of all.

Oh, and I've lost 42 pounds. \o/

Yay nice day! Perfect weather for moving, which is what I did today.

I have a lovely David icon, but it's only loaded on my LJ account, so just pretend I used it here.

I had to Google David Wenham, but oh my, he did such a wonderful job with that role. His scenes with his father and going into a hopeless battle had me in so many tears.

I'm glad you got moved on a less-than-monsoony day, though I know that wasn't an easy step for you to have to take.

I hope it turns out to be beneficial for you, though.

Yes! Exactly! I just watched that scene tonight, and it was incredibly moving. He was a great character--one of Tolkein's and Jackson's best.

I see that David W is a regular in some Australian tv series now. I'll have to check it out.

That's the one! I also have a cool icon from when the horses go off into battle at Gondor. From the scene when Pippin is singing? It makes me cry every time. *sigh*

We're going to be moving the rest of my furniture and stuff next weekend, so I hope the nice weather holds, or at least gets all its rain out during the week. Hee. I'm actually packing right now! Fun! I have so much crap!

There is so much to love about ROTK, and Pippin's song, in Billy Boyd's lovely clear voice, is one of the best things--especially intercut as it is with Denethor chowing down like a madman while the horses line up for battle. It's incredibly moving.

LOTR really is some wonderful, wonderful filmmaking. I'm amazed at how beautifully it has held up to repeated watchings, and not just in the fannish sense. There are moments that are absolutely glorious in every respect.

He's lovely, isn't he? I read that he was cast as Faramir mostly on the strength of his resemblance to Sean Bean (and it's a really good resemblance), but he rocked the role on his own and made it entirely memorable.

42 - no wonder life is coming together so nicely for you at the moment! And any rediscovery of the delightful David Wenham is a joy. What more can we want? ( I know lots of things!!)

Everything does seem to have a magical tone at the moment. Maybe it's just the long-awaited arrival of spring, but whatever it is, it's lovely and I'm enjoying it.

Ah, and I see with a click on your profile that you're in Australia, so "the arrival of spring" should have been modified by "in these parts." :D
