The unexpected sources of healing

A week ago, a dear friend hurt me pretty badly. Today, the post office delivered the mail they've been holding for me since I left on vacation, and in it was a very lovely, thoughtful gift from that same friend.

About four months ago now, Monsoon died. It was a shocking thing to witness, and I knew I hadn't fully dealt with it.

When I opened my front door to get my mail this afternoon, a young cat, about three months of age, came strolling in to my house.

Monsoon

Son of Monsoon

There is no telling where healing will come from.

Aw, thanks! This guy is called Rufus, as far as I know, and actually does belong to the neighbor whose female cat was apparently Monsoon's girlfriend before he died. We'll call her "Widow of Monsoon".

So the fact that I gave him a can of people tuna and a bowl of water this afternoon means nothing. Nothing at all...

hee! No, because cats don't like people tuna at all...

:)
