11/20 Territory
This is what the porch is for.

A still, damp, cool early evening in September. An armchair, a book, neighbors walking their dogs or riding their bikes...
...and cats.

Graydie emerged from the house to find Ivy poaching on her territory. She wasn't happy.

Graydie: "Git, you!"
Ivy: "Okey dokey." *bides her time*

Ivy: *pretends to walk small* "It's really just that the grass is wet."

Graydie: "And stay away!"
Ivy: "What you don't know is that I've figured out the cat door that you're scared of."

Graydie: "That's right. Cower."
Ivy: *whistles* "Just getting out of the rain."

Ivy: "Any minute now she's gonna get bored, then FOOD FOR ME!"

No wonder Graydie's a bit jealous. Thing is, I can't tell whether I'm feeding Ivy on top of meals she's getting where she actually lives, or if she's a stray. On the one hand, she doesn't appear to be gaining excess weight, but on the other hand she's in pretty good shape for someone who's living rough. And she knows what a cat door is...
