Song Letter Meme

The meme: If you post a comment here and request a letter, I'll assign you one. Then you post on your own journal with a list of four songs beginning with the letter I dole out.

Mine? All from long ago, I'm afraid. [livejournal.com profile] altariel gave me the letter "D".

"Don't Cry Out Loud" by Melissa Manchester is the first song that comes to my mind for D. What that says about me I will leave to you.

Don't cry out loud
Just keep it inside, learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall, remember you almost had it all

"Desperado" made huge by The Eagles, but--who knew?--composed by Clint Black.

And youre losin all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feelin goes away?

"Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" by Bob Dylan.

Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right

"Don't I Know" by Sinead Lohan, from her second of only two albums, "No Mermaid," one of my all-time favorites. She seems to have left the music biz for the family biz.

don't i know
the days are only
what we make them
don't i know
the nights go only
where we take them

Comment and I will challenge you!

I am imPressed! Good "P" title songs, AND adherence to my keyword--above and beyond the call of meme-age.

All fine choices. I wasn't familiar with the Pink one, but she doesn't mince words!

Oh, you must hear Pink's song (actually Pink w/The Indigo Girls)...the live version is especially shiver-inducing:

That's pretty awesome.

Okay, I'm home with bronchitis today, which seems especially apt for listening to Pink do her Janis Joplin tribute.

Which is fantastic.

And it's all your fault.

But aren't you glad I use my powers for good and not evil?

I'm sorry you're sick, especially on such a beautiful day, but I'm definitely not sorry for introducing you to the talent of Pink. Girl can fucking sing, dude.

Cute, smart, talented, and...IRONICAL. That's not something you see every day.

Oh, and you watch the video for Stupid Girls. Srsly.

Oh, I did. Outstanding.

Speaking as a Very Old Person, I guess my one complaint would be that she's such a chameleon--and so able to look like everyone's fantasy--that I'd be hard-pressed to recognize her without titles.
