Speaking as a Very Old Person, I guess my one complaint would be that she's such a chameleon--and so able to look like everyone's fantasy--that I'd be hard-pressed to recognize her without titles.

I was driving through town alone one night, a number of years ago now, listening to KINK-FM, one of the last remaining "real" radio stations on the west coast. On came this amazing song, with a swinging 3/2 rhythm and a sandy alto voice singing "I am no mermaid, I am no mermaid, and I am no fisherman's slave."

It was love at two bars. I can remember more or less exactly where in town I was at the time. I ordered "No Mermaid" that night, and it's been one of my favorite albums ever since. Lohan is a hell of a songwriter, and I'm assuming that it's been her choice not to continue in the business, because her talent is tremendous.
