15/30: So, Teen Wolf 3.03

Man, did Jeff Davis and Company go to Pacing School over the hiatus? By wasting zero seconds of screen time on Scott and Allison making out or werewolves doing the risible all-fours run through the woods, they actually have quality time for all the characters!



Things I loved:

• Stiles and Mama McCall Solving Mysteries and Fighting Crime Together (don't bother me with credibility! Teary-eyed Dylan O'Brien erases all bad things)
• Chris Argent telling werewolves how to werewolf (also, the giant glowing dog-whistles were cool, and the fact that they first deafened our fangy friends and then immediately had no effect is totally explainable. I'm sure.)
• Derek took the stairs.
• Scott and Derek working together
• Lydia and Stiles snarking and working together - in fact, everybody snarking and working together. That was fantastic!
• Is it okay to say that I never get tired of hot!creepy Uncle Peter?
• Action!Allison calmly Legolasing the naughty werewolves. Man, that girl is chilly. I love her so far this season.

I'm sure I'll think of a bazillion more when I get a chance to rewatch, but, in summary: good ep. Very good ep.

Stiles and Melissa were awesome. Holy hell, that kid can act.

Regarding the glowy lightsticks, I think the premise was that werewolves in control could filter out their effects, but those who were not (aka Boyd and Cora) wouldn't be able to do the same?

I assumed something of the kind, actually, but sometimes the show flies past so fast that I just go, yeah, okay...

And Dylan? Damn. I don't even know what to say. I'm way past being able to tell whether I just sort of fell in love with him and can no longer see him clearly, or whether he really is just that good. I'm frequently stunned. As, apparently, is every director of photography who looks at him through a lens.
