...but when you eat less, there's, like, more food around. It goes farther. The grocery dollar stretches better.

I honestly didn't think about that: about how much food I was eating just to polish it off, to avoid leftovers going bad--in some bizarro world, to keep from wasting food (because stuffing it down my gullet was less wasteful than stuffing it in the garbage...IDEK).

My freezer has become my new best friend. I am definitely not going to eat this whole pound of ground beef in the next two days, so 75% of it needs to be frozen. Same with the two dozen gluten-free vegetable pancake thingies I invented. I can't just plan to nibble on them endlessly, so into the freezer 20 of them go.

One small chicken has been my lunches and dinners for three days now. A quart of strained yogurt, measured out in modest servings, is breakfast for a week.

Eating less is cheaper. That prospect never even crossed my mind. Weird.
