 ...why my pictures aren't posting? I've uploaded to DW, copied, checked, and rechecked the embed and link codes, and my post still just displays the HTML.

I'm pretty rusty at Dreamwidth. Any tips? TIA

That's what has me puzzled! I copied the embed code from the View Images page, pasted into the post, and it worked fine. But you've given me an idea...

Darn. Nope. Copy-pasting the code for the house picture from the other day doesn't work either. Seems to be something in how I'm composing the new post itself.

I'll hassle with it a bit more tomorrow. Thanks for your advice.

Not so far. I even tried switching browsers, thinking it might be a cache problem. I'll try again today.

Thing is, I just think in terms of illustration. What I want to post about seems to require a picture or two.

What code are you using? Can you paste it here?

can you double-check whether your create/edit entry page is set to Casual HTML, Raw HTML, or Markdown? (or Rich Text Editor, but if that were the problem I hope you would have spotted it yourself)

I had something odd happen with my poll when I posted yesterday -- it shows up fine in preview and the code is the same as always. But when I posted...nothing.

Ok, there is a new "Create Entries" Beta page. It has been Beta for at least a year, the page works really, really well, but they are still working on one bit of code that is keeping it from being the default. Anyway, probably worth switching to use the new Create Entries page. https://www.dreamwidth.org/beta
I use a photo hosting page (edit: site, not page!) On that site I create an embed code and then upload it to DW using the "insert/edit" icon.
Have no idea how to post pictures that are uploaded to DW directly.
