The Ink-Pot and the Palette

I studied astrology very deeply for a long time, and gradually left it not because it's made up, but because it couldn't really do what a lot of people long for it to do: predict the future.

As a language of description, however (mostly of people, but also of relationships, nations, events, and other entities), I always found it very beautiful and compelling. Not very practical, mind you--more of an art form, like poetry.

Ultimately, there wasn't much reason for me to continue using it for that purpose, and as I was unable to find any value in it as a tool of counseling or help, and could no longer maintain the cognitive dissonance to take it seriously, I left it behind.

I still speak it, though. :D
