Rain, rain, go away

Portland has 222 non-sunny days per year. So far in 2011, I think we've already had a hundred of 'em. And not just non-sunny: rainy. And cold. I don't suffer particularly from seasonal affective disorder, but I'm having trouble keeping my spirits up as spring refuses to come.
You guys know that I'm absolutely devoted to commuting by bike. It's a key pillar in my Depressed No More plan, and I love it. But today I just couldn't take another soaking. Late yesterday I arrived home after a day of way-too-intensive work, utterly drenched by a monsoon-class downpour that went on without respite for the whole four mile ride home.
Today I wanted to wear jeans. I wanted to wear my Hawaiian shirt. I wanted to enjoy the beautiful alpaca mitts that
vampirefan made me (well, I wanted not to need gloves at all!), and try out my new iris umbrella, and none of those things work on a rainy bike ride.
So I said screw this, and got on a bus.

I'm taking triple doses of vitamin C and D, and turning on the bright halogen high-color-temp lights at home, and doing my damnedest to be cheerful, but this endless lack of sun is seriously startin' to damage my calm.
