The books are a wrench every time. I've taken your comment very much to heart, however, and am reminding myself that if I want to re-read any of them (an unlikely eventuality, since I rarely read at all anymore, and hardly ever re-read), a Kindle edition or similar takes up zero space.

I've given some thought to a massive external drive, and I don't rule it out (we're down to less than $100 per terabyte now), but really, the cloud takes up even less space and is even less subject to failure, theft and fire. Entertainment technology has become so incredibly transitory that it seems silly to invest a dime in so much as a new thumb drive. I just paid Google $5 for a year's cloud storage of several gigabytes, and you know cloud storage is just going to get cheaper and bigger.

IDK...

For the moment, I'm keeping the big monitor, getting rid of most of the books, and jettisoning a bunch of outdated tech gear while I'm at it. I'm keeping Firefly and Serenity for sentimental reasons. :D
