Plates 1 and 2, finished. I ate my dinner off one of them tonight. It tasted extra good, too!
Plates 3 and 4, on which

They came out so pretty that I'm going to install a special plate rail in the kitchen so they can be on display instead of hidden the cupboard.
Of course, that idea led to the one where I paint the whole interior of the house. Which led to how much I need a new bed-frame. And carpet in the bedroom. And new windows.
I should stop having thoughts. But I like my plates.

19/1/11 05:58 (UTC)Glass is strangely difficult to photograph, and the photo here doesn't quite convey the colors, but yeah, I'm quite pleased.

19/1/11 06:35 (UTC)These plates are a mixed bag of near-opaque, translucent, and transparent glass, so backlighting distorts them in a different way. That's kind of why I chose that combination of glass to begin with--for the different effects that different lighting (and place-mat colors!) would have.
I'll fiddle around with the photographing problem more when I have all four plates to line up. I'm thinking of standing them on edge, with a light above them. It's an interesting challenge.

Unlike autocorrection algorithms, which pick a similar-looking word, Swype guesses at which nearby keys you meant to pass your fingertip over. Knowing that is the ONLY way you could possibly guess that "before" was supposed to be "credit".
