It's strange--my boss has recently asked me to examine and play around with Microsoft Sharepoint, which sounds a lot like this.

I'll take a closer look when I get home from work this evening. I think I already have a Google account of some sort...

Anyway, thanks for the tip. I can imagine all sorts of uses for document sharing, and I'd love to goof around with it a bit!
