Election night blues

I didn't think it would bother me this much. It certainly doesn't surprise me. Every sign pointed to a repeat of 2000, and that's what we've got. Except that now we've got a fuckin' mindless war, too.

I'm old enough to remember Vietnam, in my living room, every day throughout all the years of my growing up. I graduated from high school the year after the U.S. left Saigon. Now I'll have Iraq in my living room every day till I fuckin' retire.

And what's way, way worse is that Iraq will have us in its living room--its battered, decimated, irradiated living room. For whatever the half-life of depleted uranium is.

We're so fucked.
