Rest in peace

Monsoon was killed tonight.

He was just a year old. He was wild and feisty from the day he came to live with me, and though I had agreed not to let him outdoors, he escaped very early in our life together, and soon made it clear that he would not be cooped up. He was just heading home tonight and ran out in front of a car.

I buried him under the cypresses where he sometimes liked to hide.
