A couple of weeks ago, TPTB at my workplace posted our new work schedule.
Today, they updated it:
Monday: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Now, I'm as willing as the next person to make a big push to meet a deadline. And okay, this schedule is only in place for the rest of this week and next. So my house gets a little chaotic and I lose my temper a couple of timesan hour. Not that big a deal.
Except that ME BEING AT MY DESK THIRTEEN HOURS A DAY WILL NOT HELP. My work queue is empty. It's been empty most of the week. The bottleneck is elsewhere. DarkEm is not Part Of The Problem.
So, dear management: Instead of calling the whole team into a room and dropping this schedule bomb on us; instead of hostaging the entire team to nightly hour-long status meetings to review the issues of the few; instead of browbeating us and treating us like we're a) idiots and b) slackers; why don't you focus some attention on THE FREAKIN' PROBLEM??
Yours in stress and annoyance,
Dark Em
