Well, I made it all the way home yesterday on Clyde. In the lowest spinny gear, going at walking speed, I got up the ramp from the river to the Rose Quarter. I walked three blocks towards the end of the ride, but otherwise cycled the whole way.

I was ROASTING, red in the face, pouring with sweat, breathing hard, and a little shaky by the time I lugged Clyde up my porch steps and into my living room. A cold shower erased the smelly sweat but didn't entirely cool me down, and I had to drink about a quart of water and rest very quietly for several minutes.

You'd think I'd have slept like a log, but a few things hurt just a tad: hip joints, and gluteus minimus muscles, I think they are. They're butt-muscles, but not the big ones.

And plus, I had dreams all night long about bicycles, and how to fit them into my Regency-era novel. This is your brain on endorphins, I guess.

Drove to work today. Joined the Bike Commute 2009 Challenge team at my office. Went to a Bike Commute workshop at lunchtime. It's my new thing!
