This all-week training would be a challenge under ideal circumstances, because it's packed with hard-to-understand material, and the East Coast time schedule is throwing me all out of whack.
On top of that, since it's being delivered virtually, there's a whole technical component: dual monitors, a "classroom" interface, a phone headset and glasses on all day long, a constant muting and unmuting of the microphone.
Add to that the fact that I'm in the box-a-day Kleenex phase of a nasty cold (coughing should begin tomorrow--hope I remember to mute the microphone), where my lips are chapped from the mouth-breathing, and my nose is sore from the aforementioned tissues, and my ears are a little stuffy and my head hurts--well, in a word: it's no picnic.
I won't dwell upon the scintillating subject matter, or the fact that today was the easy day, according to the instructor.
On the plus side, the bike commute at 5:45 a.m. is lovely and quiet, as is the return journey at 2:00 in the afternoon, and I didn't have to get on an airplane for it. And when it's done, I have four days off!
