Sugar poisoning

Damn these people who bring Halloween candy to work. Seriously! I'm all on board with self-determination and personal responsibility, but the combination of stress, Smarties and Whoppers is about to kill me.

I'm very, very tempted to go around and quietly throw every bit of it in the garbage. Because what's worse? Me on a sugar high (followed by hangover) or Whoppers in the trash? Either way, it's wasted, but at least in the trash it's not making my head explode.

I'm feeling the same way about the enormous amounts my kids brought home. I don't want/need all this damn candy & yet there seems no way to get rid of it responsibly. Someone suggested the local kids' hospital might want it; I'll have to call and see.

It was much easier when they were small & their treat collection radius was limited to a single block.

I can't think why a hospital would want what amounts to Poison For Kidz. The only responsible action is not to buy it in the first place, but failing that, trashcan seems perfectly civic-minded to me.

I was thinking about this last night. (Because, you know, candy is a thing to expend thought on, right?) I think your Smarties are our M&M's (chocolate dots with a candy shell, right?).

We don't have Rockets. But yeah, Smarties. Chalky tart goodness. Mmmm. Thank God they're gone now. Because I ATE THEM ALL OMG.

I have nothing to add to this conversation! I've been so thankful in the last four Halloweens we have not had to buy or consume treats for this horrible day. It makes me sick just remembering those times. And yes, they are irresistible, if nothing else due to their sweet and innocent size and appearance,. Just one can't hurt... right?

Today I actually grabbed the last handful of crap from the "treat cabinet" (you know the one) and walked straight to the restroom with it and threw it away in there.

Barn door, horse, all that, but that was one handful of candy nobody ate.
