darkemeraldsThat's what the City told me. Rats. They have discovered a rathole (I never thought about that as a literal term!) on the edge of my property. A rathole, they explain, usually means that there's a break in the sewer line, by which rats (and vampires) can escape and come to the surface at night.
"It is the responsibility of the property owner" was kind of the key phrase in this missive. That and cha-ching words like "trenching," "permits," "right-of-way," and "sewer line replacement."
The plumbers came out today. Nice guys. They're gonna put a camera down there and look around. Then I'll get an estimate.
