"Inexplicable plot elements" doesn't even begin to cover it, with Twilight fandom. Trust me. Even the fans, among whom I count myself, love it and despair. :)

I'm saving Restraint for my next chunk of free time. Going to savour it.

Glad you got through the grand jury thing okay. Didn't realise that you were an atheist! I'm vaguely surprised by that, being as if asked who were the most spiritual of the people I know, I would have put you in the top ten. And that's even with one relative being a priest and another friend a nun! :)
