My online course is about teaching grades 4 to 6. It's called ABQ Junior: Basic Qualifications to teach at the Junior level. I'm taking it so I will be eligible for jobs from grades 4 to 12. (Right now I can teach seven to twelve).

I have learned a lot doing the course; it's been a bit like an additional semester of my B.Ed. Right now I'm working on an assignment about exploratory learning, also called discovery learning, where you give students an experiment/experience and let them figure it out, rather than telling them what they are going to find out. For example, in the article I'm reporting on they give students wires, a bulb, and a battery and they have to figure out what configuration lights the battery. This gets them interested in circuits and prepares them to understand concepts about circuits that they are discovering by doing.
