Glamour tip for my gray, silver, white and platinum-haired friends: go to the art supply or craft store, get a pot of pearl powder pigment, and mix some of it with your styling goo in the palms of your hands, then put it in your hair. Result: shiny, shiny shiny-ness.

My darling hairstylist, Doug, assures me that it's safe, that he does this trick for glamour styles quite often, and that crumbling cheap eyeshadow up works too.

Caution: probably best to stay away from the toxic pigments. Personally, I'd avoid anything with cadmium, cobalt or chrome in its name.

Pearl pigment powder! You should try it out. I got mine at the local variety store in the school and art supplies aisle. I don't think I paid more than three bucks for it. I mix my dollop of molding mud-type styling stuff with...I'd say maybe an eighth of a teaspoon? Basically a fingertip-ful. Then rub-rub-rub my hands together and smoosh-smoosh-smoosh into my hair.

Yep, that's me. Isn't it a great cut? I have the best cutter in Portland, I swear. He gets me.
