Another terrific icon! I used to have a H2G2 icon somewhere, but alas it vanished in one of my LJ downgrades.

In my training for work with other people (hypnosis and NLP, mostly) the key seemed to be to use the client's own language. So I suppose you could just ask whether the other person has a term for God that they're comfortable with, and use that.
