I've determined with scientific accuracy that there were 541,320 leaves on the English walnut tree in my yard. About one-tenth of one percent of them are still up there. Of the rest:
50% have been raked and stuffed into yard debris bags for recycling;
30% are spread about three leaves deep over the 50x50 foot wasteland that is my side yard, where every year I hope they will kill off the ugly grass and every year they just feed it;
7.5% are in my gutters, along with most of the walnuts
12.5% have become SEP by graciously blowing into other yards or the public right of way.
I have raked my last for 2004.
