Snack on an autumn afternoon

It's fall! My ride to work this morning was characterized by a light overcast (the sun a silver coin, the river stainless steel) and no rain. It's cool--one could go as far as to say chilly--and I'm wearing my magenta wool-and-silk scarf for the first for-real time since I finished knitting it last spring.

I love October! And in a few minutes I'm leaving the office to join dine for dinner. It will be fannish and delicious.

Isn't it great? I walked into the yarn shop and looked around, and there it was, positively glowing among its earthier neighbors. It was love at first sight.
