Is it possible to fall in love with a pair of jeans?

No, I don't mean the ones Benton Fraser wears off duty, or the ones in that Jensen Ackles fashion photoshoot. (Though, yeah, worthy.) I mean, ones you actually own?

Because I bought this pair of jeans the other day in a size smaller than I've worn in a while, and they're already getting a little loose, and they're straight cut in that thick, faded denim and I feel all va-va-voom wearing them (to work! on a not-Friday! I'm so bold), and I'm in love.

Jeans, huh? Amazing things.

It really is. There's something particular about jeans--maybe it's my generation, I'm not sure. But jeans are so earthy and timeless and neutral and comfortable--the only clothing you can sit on the ground in, or wipe your hands on, and still look kind of hot.

Or, in my case, at least feel kind of hot.

I think it's the way they fit the legs. The drap and how you feel them on your body. The fabric is solid yet giving. And they can elongate the leg so that you look lanky in stead of stubby, at least for a 5'2" frame I think.

CONGRATS on the decline in size. It's a wonderful thing when it happens!

Funny, how individual they are. Looking short was never on my list of concerns, but having a fat ass was. So to me, it's how jeans fit the hips and butt. How they sort of rein it all in, act like a corset, smooth out bumps and give a nice line.

Also, I love the fact that while many a less demanding garment can be sold in SML sizes, jeans have to be sold in specific sizes and inseam lengths. I can find jeans to fit, and when I do, they fit.

Anyway, yes, it feels so good that I'm wearing my new jeans again today, and I'm on the hunt for a black pair.
