That's helpful, yes. I hadn't spotted all of his assumptions, but my "privilege" radar was pinging like mad.

Since the blog in question is devoted to bicycling and bike politics in Portland, the readership's special situation--and any privilege it represents--isn't generally relevant to the discussion, but it was today.
