I guess I'm going to WriterCon

Woo hoo! I just went balls and signed up for WriterCon 2009. I am insane. My computer was stolen four days ago, my sewer main repair bill came three days ago, and by some strange logic that says "I deserve it," I just booked airfare to Minneapolis/St Paul, three nights in a hotel, and convention registration as if I have any money.

I'm kind of excited.

That would be so much fun! I wish you could be there. The agenda looks lively, and what struck me about it that made me push the "go" button was that every single session, all the guest speaker topics, everything, was all stuff I understand and have been involved with for years and am interested in.

Yes, yes, yes! Those are the kind of things I obsess about too. Questions that rarely have a perfect, universal answer but have to be addressed on a story-by-story basis. It looks really exciting and interesting and brain-exercisey and, damn, I wish I were going even more now.

Needless to say, I'll be blogging the experience as thoroughly as I can.

This is the first fandom-related activity I'll have participated in (not counting online life, of course) since StarFury. As this one involves no celebrities, autographs or photo-ops, I think I'll be perfectly comfortable.
