'Bout 1:30 a.m. last night I went out to get my sheets off the clothesline so I could make my bed and proceed to lie in it. There was a visitor.



He was so unperturbed by my presence that he didn't even back away slightly when I started taking pictures of him.



Graydie was whining at him. Dean was nowhere to be seen.

Oooh, my Jia cat is obviously part raccoon, because that tail looks awfully familiar.

It's the kibble-grubbing little hands, stuffing crunchies into his mouth, that gives him sort of a Scrooge/Mr Burns air, though.

The Maine coon breed of cat is so-called because their big bottle-brush tails made early American settlers think they were related to this fellow.

In the week or so before you guys get here, I'll start putting cat food out at night again, so Mr Lotor gets to thinking about hopping up for a photo op.

He's beautiful. I know they can be a bit of a pest with bins and such, but I still think he's lovely :-)

Yeah, they're really pretty critters. And persistent! And very intelligent.

They've been known to kill cats and small dogs (though it's rare), and they're mean and toothy enough that you definitely don't want to corner one and get very close, but they're not that much trouble as long as they're not living in your roof.
