At last! My door has come along!

Ed, bless his hard-working heart, came over today in the ungodly heat and put the final touches on Project Empty: Phase II, Mudroom.

At the moment, I'm sitting at the table and thinking that the only thing wanting for my entire satisfaction is for someone to bring me dinner.

I have a window fan in the bedroom, which has been doing quite well--it has a thermostat, so it'll stop on its own some time between two and four, depending on how fast it cools down.

I'm facing the wrong way for the breeze, and it's a one-room-wide apt., shaped like a trailer, so the only other window is the sliding glass door on the balcony at the other end. That door is now open, and there's a fan going in front of it, as well, but I'll close it and turn off the fan before I go to sleep, usually. I get up early enough to have it run again in the morning before the heat hits that side.

According to the fan readout, it's 79 in here now, so I'm doing all right. Still not looking forward to another couple of days of this. I was going to sew...

Pretty much anything to do with fiber arts is miserable in hot weather.

Sounds like you've got as elaborate a cooling system as mine!
