Pretty pretty lights

Ah, Saturday night. Ah, September. Ah, internet.

It's warm, and moonlit. The fountain is fountaining. The crickets are cricketing. Graydie the stray cat is hanging around. And I'm watching tee-vee on my computer.
Seriously: if someone would bring me a martini right now, I'd be in heaven.

26/9/10 03:37 (UTC)Sometimes, deep in February, I take it all back. :D

27/9/10 14:38 (UTC)Damn, I'm enjoying Merlin. And my back yard.

27/9/10 14:40 (UTC)Am more of an Arthur girl myself (despite his low wattage IQ) but love Merlin to bits too.

27/9/10 14:45 (UTC)True, though (and good audience retention technique generally) that after two dark and heavily serious episodes they kind of needed a light one.
I'm enjoying the actual character arc of Morgana. I mean, she actually changes due to actual forces on her character. Katie MacGrath (is that right?) is only medium-good, but they give her a lot to work with and she sells it, I think.
I went back and watched the first couple of episodes, and I can see that the character arcs of Merlin, Uther and Arthur have been a bit more subtle, but they're definitely there. Guinevere, not so much.
Oh dear, I could go on. And I probably shall.

27/9/10 14:55 (UTC)Arthur really needs to find out about Merlin's magic soon. It's been bugging me for ages that he doesn't.
What did you think of Sins of the Father? My favourite episode. And, blimey, Bradley can actually act! Morgause (Emelia Fox of the Fox dynasty) is brilliant.

27/9/10 15:02 (UTC)I was puzzled about whether the image of Ygraine really was false, or whether Morgause just showed him the truth. I need to watch it again.
I need to watch them all again. It's a mark of impending immersion in a new fandom that I'm ready, willing and illegally able to do just that. (And that this single Merlin icon I've had for three days seems inadequate and overused.)

27/9/10 15:16 (UTC)And yes, I had the same reaction to Bradley in that. It's interesting, how he started out (in real life, according to the fans) as the outgoing one, whereas now he tries to take a back seat.

27/9/10 16:20 (UTC)I hadn't thought of it till now, but I can totally see the similarity between this particular Arthur and a certain Sanzo priest.

27/9/10 17:15 (UTC)It wouldn't surprise me at all if Colin is better at celebrity than Bradley is.
Yes. Bradley's bluster and teasing at the start of their working relationship might have been more about him feeling uncomfortable and assuming that Colin was suffering even more. It's cute - that wanting to take care of people tendency.
Tangentially, have you seen this? You can imagine the delight of the RPSers. Like
