H is for Happiness

The fact that there are still memes makes me kind of happy. oursin was doing the "Things I'm Grateful For/Happy About Beginning With the Letter _" meme. She gave me the letter H.

1. My Health. Still got it. Never fail to be grateful for it. Have had some recent concerns about it, which make it all the more precious.


2. Helen. That's my sis. A constant source of support and strength. Thanks, Hel.


3. My House. It's tiny, it's tacky, and if it weren't on a lot in the heart of the city, it'd be practically valueless, but, you know, it's Home.


4. Hot running water. Seriously. I can't think of very many other accomplishments of civilization more awesome than this, can you? Yeah, okay, plumbing in general. And coffee.


5. Hale. You know who you are.* An inspiring friendship is priceless.


6. Hacker's Diet. I won't go on an on, but hacking my weight has been a life-saver. As geeky and outdated as John Walker's treatise sounds today, the fundamentals are solid. The approach may not be for everyone but it's sure been perfect for me. Sixty-five pounds and counting.

*And I don't mean Derek. Although...
