08/30 Whoops

Missed a day. Darn! Only a quarter of the way into posting, reading, and commenting every day for a month, and I completely forgot yesterday. Never even opened my computer.
I saw "The Internship" on Friday after work. Considering that I've missed every major movie of the past two years except "The Avengers", spending the admission price to see a predictable underdog buddy-comedy is kind of a questionable choice. But, you know, Dylan O'Brien.
The movie was better than I expected. Once the cringeworthy oblivous-people-embarrassing-themselves part was done (the first 15 minutes or so--and yes, that's a thing of mine, not a criticism of the movie), it became kind of charming.
What made it the most fun of all was that
vampirefan, who lives two time zones away, wanted to see it too. Neither of us had anyone to go with, so we went together! She went to a 6:30 showing, I went to a 4:30 showing, and we texted each other at key points from our respective cinema back row seats.
Here's a frame from my favorite scene:

9/6/13 22:15 (UTC)I didn't know DO'B was in it. The trailer was just on the telly and I noticed his face in it and I was like, OMG! If I was a dog, my ears would have pricked up.
That's cool, you and

10/6/13 01:51 (UTC)Right? Ha ha ha! That's it exactly. He's like a magnet or something.
The producers were very smart to insure that his face was clearly seen in the trailers. I watched the hashtag #TheInternship Friday night and yesterday on my Twitter feed, and close to half of all tweets mentioned Dylan (and that's not a fannish stream, that's Twitter as a whole).
Yup, our boy is going to go far. (And one thing you may notice is that Stuart, his role in "The Internship" bears almost no resemblance to Stiles--evidence that he's got more than one note to sound.)

10/6/13 00:59 (UTC)It really was kind of charming, wasn't it? I went with a non-Teen Wolf watcher and she enjoyed it too, so I know I wasn't just dazzled by my crush.

10/6/13 02:01 (UTC)But yeah, that scene in the predawn light at the Golden Gate Bridge was visually gorgeous and charming, and, um, had a nice view of Dylan.
Also? Did you notice that he plays Stuart without smiling even once until the final scene? Stuart is cool, introverted, graceful, and dour--the opposite of Stiles. I mean, I knew he could act, but now I have a better idea of how much.

10/6/13 22:56 (UTC)That being said, I did notice that he's very different from Stiles. Round of applause to Dylan for being awesome :D
