21/31 Person of Interest

I'm impressed with how this show has started foregrounding all its kickass women and girls, and the two ostensibly leading males have become supporting characters.
Shaw has interested me only marginally until tonight. Her backstory made her wonderfully creepy and sad, and now I sort of love her. Apart from the lethal force and the beauty, I can relate to her. That absence of affect and that socially inappropriate detachment are...not unknown to me. And how could you not love her for managing to plant a bug in Finch's office?
The episode could have gone in a very sappy direction with young Gen at the end of the episode; I approve of the way they walked that line without crossing it. They left open the possibility of having Gen return, and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing her again.
I don't love what Carter's becoming, but I have to admit I'm really interested in it--and in her (though I do wonder what's become of her son. Did they ever say? Or has she conveniently become a non-parent?).
I've enjoyed PoI all along, but I was riveted on tonight's ep.

1/11/13 21:41 (UTC)Razgovor (episode 5 of the current season) was even better - it was the first piece of TV to make my jaw drop since I was watching a Joss Whedon show eleventy billion years ago, and then it did it again in the same episode!
