Relief!

What a relief! My biweekly one-on-one meeting with the boss this morning did wonders to set my mind at rest about this whole two-jobs-in-one problem.

"Norm" is still driving me batshit (and no, I didn't say so to the boss. Because what good is being over 50 if you haven't learned anything about politics?) but the boss said the November 1 deadline for complete knowledge and job transfer is "just so we keep focused, and so we aren't still doing this next June."

He further said, "You're handling it exactly right."

All of which I took as code for, "Don't worry, be happy."

So I'm not. And I am!

This is somebody else's fault. It totally is.

giandujakiss has pointed me to a place where I can order a custom chocolate bar.

You can too, at Chocomize (if you're in the US, I think). You select the type of chocolate and then start adding stuff like nuts and flowers and bacon or whatever, then you give them a credit card number, then they make your chocolate bar and ship it to you.

Mine? Milk chocolate, macadamia nuts, candied violets, and flecks of 24 carat gold.

I call it The Morgana.

OMG, now I have to think of a Merlin, an Arthur, and a Gwen.

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools.

Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality.

Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

Holy shit, Rubicon

I've been watching Rubicon since the first ep, a weird, slow-moving, fascinating drama about...spies? conspiracy theories? It wasn't clear till this latest ep, but it kept being moody, and it was building slowly towards something--clues, interesting characters, beautiful cinematography, something developing.

Then wham! Episode 11. Whoa. Suddenly the whole story starts to knit together and now I can't wait for more.

I like the relationships--they're realistic and interesting, and I even kind of like Will's artist girlfriend, though I keep thinking she's a kind of Mellie/November and is going to become a ninja any second.
