19/5/05 06:23 (UTC)But of course, how evil would a person have to be NOT to find a kitten at least a little bit cute?

19/5/05 16:17 (UTC)Slightly less "awww" will be litterboxes and other cat-related cleanup, which my memory has conveniently purged in the years since I last had a feline roommate. All you remember is the fuzzy, and the purring, and the happy-to-see-you-when-you-come-through-the-door. Memory is funny that way. Gets you into trouble as often as not!

19/5/05 16:11 (UTC)So I'm looking out my window, wondering if this three-week rainstorm we've been having will ever stop, and musing on "Global Warming" as a good name for a cat, when "Monsoon" springs to mind.
It has a kind of South-Asian sound to it, but come to find out it's really Arabic in origin--mawsim. Means "season," and carries connotations of "winds of change" and "the appropriate season."
Everyone I've told the name to says, "So, what will you call him for a nickname? Mon? Or Soon?" I'm thinkin' "Mal." Hee!

19/5/05 08:10 (UTC)Actually, I adore him.

19/5/05 16:42 (UTC)Actually, Simon can be just catty. Mal? More leopardish.
But you know how cats can go at it, ripping at each other's heads with their hind legs, clawing, snarling, puffing all up and dancing sideways in circles around each other? And then curling up together and purring and licking each other's ears?

19/5/05 16:54 (UTC)Oh God. I think I'm going to have to get a second kitten.

19/5/05 15:54 (UTC)Of course, then the cleanup begins. I've been blessedly free of cat hair and litterboxes for a couple of years.
On the other hand, I've also been without a purring pal. It's a good trade.

19/5/05 22:35 (UTC)Why there would be an angel in the woods, I do not know. :)
And as long as we're talking icons, I just noticed that your emerald icon has an ouroboros around it. Cool!

19/5/05 16:46 (UTC)Yeah, the fur of a Persian would be a bitch. My little guy is a Maine coon--with luck, he'll develop that coarse, heavy coat that doesn't shed much. But I've met his mom, and she's a silky one, so he could go either way.
I have the brush. I'm not afraid to use it.
